Two DAYS!

Two days can seem like a long time or it can go by quickly. I'm hoping it goes by quickly because THEN I'll be finished working in a call center for 10+ hours a day, 4 days a week. For what it's been, it isn't the worst job.

I've been calling America.
I have spoken to every different person you can imagine: sweet old ladies who appreciate what we're doing, young couples wanting to make sure they've been counted along with their newborn baby, college students, immigrants who don't speak English, empty nesters, snow birds who juggle two residences. Those are the nice ones.
Then we have the anti-government people who would rather stay on the phone and yell at me (for things out of my control) rather than hang up. Or the people who make lewd comments throughout the call. They're a joy.
America is paranoid, but overall, very nice. Well, sometimes. Mostly just cordial. Needless to say, I'm not too sad for this job to be finished.

What am I going to do with all my free time afterwards? HA.

My month is so packed that I'll have just a few days downtime before it gets busy again.

In those few days, I'm going to empty my freezer of all the frozen (fresh) fruit and make all sorts of canned goods. Then I'm going to start cleaning my sewing room/craft studio in the hopes of finding my camera. And also to clean it.

Before I know it I'll be on the road with Heidi and our new friend Rebecca on our way to CHA! in Chicago.

So my weeks might be full still, but they're definitely things I'll WANT to be doing instead of HAVE to be doing.

Like planning what to do in Chicago.

Anyone have suggestions on Must-See's in Chicago area?

Also, if you haven't seen the video below, watch it. Pretty darn funny.

If it's not funny to you, watch the original they're spoofing here. And also here.
I love BYU even more.

Chi-town! Such a fabulous city. I'd highly recommend a transit pass so you can hop on and off the buses and the El (you must ride it). Go to the Sears Tower and Hancock building. The Magnificent Mile. Get a book from AAA for coupons and ideas. I'm SO jealous!!

So...I've been watching this video all day. We just can't get enough of it! The best part? Look for the guy with the tree when first scene gets torn down. It's pretty hilarious. Thank you for sharing it!

Chicago! That is my kind of town! So much to do and see and eat! There is the ferris wheel and fun area at Navy Pier, I liked wandering the Lincoln Zoo (free) and LOVE LOVE LOVE Millennium Park (also free) they have a cool silver bean thing, and they have fountains and video screens and it is too much to explain. On things to pay, the boat architectural tour is very nice, you get to cruise around the city and see all of the different styles of buildings. There's Sears tower, which has some new viewing deck (scary). They have Billy Elliott in town as a very nice musical show.

Ultimately, I love city walking in Chicago. We walked the couple miles from Millennium Station through millennium park, past the 'married with children' water fountain, all the way to the aquarium and soldier field. It is hot though, and so cabs can also be really nice...

HAVE FUN, and enjoy the end of the JOB!
