Ryan finally won me over and bought a Wii. He used a huge chunk of change he got for his birthday and then I approved the other funding (i manage bills, therefore, I approve) so he could get up early Monday morning and get to Target. All said and done, it almost cost as much as his wedding band. I know.
BUT! It's so much fun. I'll admit I haven't had the overwhelming desire to hook it up while he's been at work (I've been crafty)but we had our friends over on Monday night and we played for a bit. Saddest thing is, bowling. me and bowling. I scored about the same on the game as I do at the real alley. Usually at the alley I get at least one strike. My best was a spare. Tiffany actually kicked all of us to the curb with a score over 140. Next closest was 102. me? 74. Seriously.
We had dinner with them at Fuddruckers first. I ordered a kids meal and was pleasantly surprised I couldn't finish the burger. And for only $3.25? Such a deal.
Their newborn was an angel. Thunder was quite fascinated with him as well and tried to gobble his little fingers and toes. Brenton really wasn't too thrilled about a warm wet tongue on his face and screwed up his little mouth in protest. Adorable. I want a baby, dagnabit.

My Etsy Shop is Open!
So, I've become addicted to Etsy and thought, hey, I'm crafty (many people tell me so) and recently started sewing baby bibs (see older posts) and have had a ton of fun learning this kind of thing. Next I'll try is a blanket (again).
Cheaper By The Dozen
I definitely need some help making a banner and an avatar, but I'll get there.
Keep looking to see my fun new things!
I figure it's a way to keep my hobbies funded without totally irking my hubby (who woke up extra early this morning so he could get to Target and finally buy a Wii).

"I bet this is a commercial for Ruby Tuesday."
It was for Fancifeast Cat Food. Kayleigh was really wrong.
Not much new tonight. Ryan was at work today in the morning and in the afternoon our friends Caitlyn and Chase stopped by. They've been in Brazil for the last 3 months for a study abroad/volunteer program and got back last weekend. Caitlyn was/is really good friends with Ryan's ex-girlfriend and Chase and Ryan were roommates while he and Laura dated and Chase and Caitlyn got engaged. They're cute together. They're Zim and Gir. They're graduating this week and are in town to walk and finish up a few papers.
Also, I made a most delish dish today. I really was going for green chile chicken dip, but it's tough to make without green chiles. So instead I added garlic and cheese and cooked some rice. It was so good. Basically it tasted like an extra creamy hawaiian haystacks sauce, but it was wonderful by itself over some rice and a side of maiz.
In case you haven't heard: There's a new landlord in town. Beware.
YouTube removed the video, but you can find it here. It's called The Landlord
(on a side note: it's really sad they had to make this little girl swear to make it so freaking funny)
This one is just priceless.

Pound Puppies to the Rescue!
So the title doesn't really have anything to do with anything, except it's been in my head the last few days.
I decided to try my hand at a new skill this past week. Sewing. 1) I'm not very good with it. 2) I should have paid more attention when the guy at the fabric store said this material is really tough to work with, almost as bad as silk and when i told him it was my first project, he said good luck. I should have listened. But I didn't.
This is the blanket I wanted to make for the girl I visit teach. She just had a baby boy in February and thought to meself, this will be a cinch! It's just 4 straight lines. So instead I decided to iron on some extra felt i had from my recent banner project and make it a snugli soft blanket for Thunder. He actually likes it.
I then tried a baby bib or two. They were all a bit tough to figure out, because the damn fabric kept sliding and even after I pinned it and cut it and thought it was all aligned, it'd somehow end up skewompus. the little bib and burpcloth set with the polka dots and oh-so-soft Minky are my favorite. They were the last and turned out the best.

Candy Mountain
So, I'm sorry the previous video no longer works. Maybe it was just a youtube easter special.
Anyways, our friends showed this to us a few weeks ago because of how ridiculously retarded it is. I think it borders on creepy, but I can't help but say "Charlie" at work. Undoubtedly, someone follows up with "come to Candy Mountain, Charlie...."
Creepy or ridiculously stupid? you decide.

Easter Peep Show
Disclaimer: This might be inappropriate for most of you, but I think it's dang hilarious. Kayleigh and I laughed for a good 5 minutes. But we're very irreverent.
Happy Easter!

Happy Birthday, Ryan!
Thursday was Ryan's 25th birthday (yes, I'm older) and I wanted to make some sort of decoration and tried my hand at the sign posted a few weeks ago. Well, I couldn't find the exact colors the original creator used, nor did I get my font big enough before cutting my letters out. I actually LOVE how mine came out. It's cute and not too 'in your face'. I strung the letters together with wired ric rac (I didn't know it was wired when I bought it). If anyone wants one, let me know. I think I'm going to make more (in a few diff color schemes) and sell them on Etsy
So for his birthday, he worked until 11pm. I made him a mini-german chocolate cake for that night but it has yet to be eaten.
I invited people over for desserts last night around 8:30 (3-layer german chocolate cake with coconut pecan frosting, cheesecake, and Texas sheet cake) and when 9pm rolled around and only my sister was here, I was feeling kind of bad. It turns out that all of his work friends he invited were out hunting for 2 punks that decided to 'run' as they call it. Basically, they 'left' campus unauthorized and everyone was out looking for the kids. Ruined my favorite's b-day. His brothers and one of his sisters came, as did our favorite Marcus. It was fun.
BUT! We did make new friends! We've lived in our house for almost a year now and we really don't know any of our neighbors. Sure, we say hi in passing, but nothing like inviting them over for bbq's or things like that. It's a two way street and we both are going the wrong way, apparently. Anyways, so our new friends, who I'll call "Dan" and his wife "Casey" came over and we talked from 9 until they left at midnight. We are so excited to have friends! They seem very similar in personalities to us. Dan is in law enforcement and loves computer gaming (Ryan's fave pasttime) and Casey worked/works in the scrapbook industry, mostly travelling around the country for tradeshows. How fun is that?!
We met them because they have a little dog named Choco. Seriously, he's one of the smallest chihuahua's I've seen. I don't think he's more than 3 lbs. and makes our little Thunder (who's 7.5 lbs) seem like a giant. The dogs were playing one evening while Ryan was outside and I went out after washing dishes and the four of us ended up talking for a couple of hours. They showed us how they tiled their condo and it gave us some great ideas for the laminate flooring we're wanting.
Friends. are. great. and we have some!!!
We're def. going to have to hang out with them again and go camping while the weather is absolutely gee-orr-jus.

Animal Cruelty
Last night my sisters and I tried to color Easter eggs. I say 'tried' because our efforts weren't much better than those when we were 4 or 5, okay, maybe 6. I bought a little glitter kit and thought, OOh! These will be pretty and sparkly (fockly). What a mess!
The eggs were all weird colors because those little die tablets didn't dissolve completely and ended up giving the eggs streaks. I ended up pulling out the little droppers of food coloring and adding tons to intensify the dyed eggs. Still, kind of lackluster results. Then the glitter.
Kayleigh dipped a blue egg first into the glue mixture (which didn't dissolve either, producing weird globs of a glue-like substance) and tinted the rest of the solution. Then you're supposed to shake it in this little cardboard glitter container. We ended up just taking the bag and shaking it all around and made a glorious glitter-filled mess.
The highlight of the night came during cleanup. My dog (who is now a whole year old!) is a scrounger and will eat anything or chew on anything he can (he doesn't like fruit, actually). We gave him a taste of a little vinegary drink. Can you guess what color?
